Col. 1:18 - And he is the head of the body, the church.

1.We know that Jesus is the head and we are His body.

2.So, what have you been doing since you have gotten saved?

2 Cor. 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

3.We will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. Why ?

a.so you can receive the things that you did

b. “ in his body “ - for Him

c. whether it was good or bad

d.since the church is His body,

e.then we see that you will be judged what you did in church

Matthew 25:31
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

4.This is a reference to when Jesus returns.

Matthew 25:32
And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

5.Jesus will then divide the “ sheep ‘ nations from “ goat “ nations.

6.The sheep and the goats were allowed to feed by day, but they were separated at night by the shepherd.

Matthew 25:33
And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

7.There are two sides that we are can be a part of.

a.notice there is no neutral ground.

Matthew 25:34
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

8. Now Jesus addresses the sheep.

a. the right side

Matthew 25:35-36
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: [36] Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

9.Sheep recognizes ministry needs and does something about it.

10.Sheep put action to whatever is needed or at hand to do.

Matthew 25:37-39
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? [38] When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? [39] Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

11. Notice they are called righteous because they are believers of action.

a.they do it instinctively

b.without having to be begged to get involved

Matthew 25:40
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

12.Everything we do we are doing it for Him.

a. historically, this is how God will address the nations in their dealings with Israel

Matthew 25:41
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

13.The goats are on His left side.

Matthew 25:42-43
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: [43] I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.

14.The goats were congregating with the sheep

a.but it doesn’t mean they will get the same results as the sheep

15.These goats, ran with the sheep, ate with the sheep, frolicked with the sheep

a.didn’t get the sheep’s inheritance.

b. Which side are you one L or R

Matthew 25:44
Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

16.These goats were so preoccupied

a.that they were totally clueless that others needed ministry.

Matthew 25:45-46
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. [46] And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

17.The goats thought because they hung out with the sheep that they would ease their way in!
a.goats were usually mingled with sheep because they are generally harmless

Proverbs 27:23
Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.

18.So what’s the difference between a flock and a herd ?

a.a flock is a number of domestic animals of the same species that are kept together

b.a herd is a large group of hoofed animals that live or are kept together

c.and it is also is also a derogatory word referenced to a large group of people

d. thats why we are called His flock
19.So, with these things in mind, which side are you on ?

a.let’s take a look and test yourself

20. Let’s compare sheep to goats:

a. sheep love their shepherd

b.goats will wander of to different shepherds who require less accountability

c.sheep understand that the shepherd is there to meet their spiritual needs and have no other demands or intentions

d.goats require more maintenance and a stronger fence because they are always wandering off

e.sheep are willing to be “ made “ or discipled

f.goats will resist the shepherd because they want to do what the want to do when they want to do it

g.sheep love the green pastures, or the messages that the shepherd takes them to feed off of

h.goats only want to eat what they like, not what they need

i.goats are not satisfied with peaceful grazing and if there is a way out of the pasture, they will find it every time

j.sheep are willing to be led as a flock

k.goats live without restraint, that’s why many have died getting stuck while trying to cross the fence

l.sheep love still waters, not agitated waters (peaceful)

m.goats get bored easy and will buck others (drama)

1 Tim. 3:15
But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

21.Notice there is a certain way that we should behave ourselves in the house of God.

a.the sheep took notice and got involved, the goats didn’t

22. Which side are you on?
