Discover the heart of a Disciple.

The Devil knows the Word of God, but is missing something - a heart towards God.

Jesus Himself: shows us HOW TO APPROACH GOD:
- Amazing: (Brevity, Simplicity, How Comprehensive it is)
- 6 Petitions - requests we are to make to God.
- First 3 - Our Heart’s declaration of God’s Supremacy.
- Last 3 - Our Heart’s total dependence on Him.
You aren’t praying to any old god; you are praying to your Dad!

Your prayers are to be intimate and personal, not cold and robot.

Could it be that the Devil knows this Book apart from God is just an idol to be worshipped.
We have to acknowledge full heartedly that HE IS and I AM NOT!
Are you willing submitting to God's purpose, plans, and glory.

Jesus modeled submitting to the Father will.

Jesus voluntarily surrender His will to the will of the Father in all things - including his life!

We need to quit on our selfishness.
Because you give the Word of God goes out.

The greatest test of your obedience is your giving?

Giving is not a money problem; it’s a heart problem.
Talk It Over

1. Review the message and first read the Lord Prayer in Matthew 6:9-10. What stood out to you the most about the chapter and the message? What was God saying to you? What confirmed your walk with God? What challenged your walk with God

2. When we pray the Bible says in Matthew 6:9 that we pray to “Our Father.” Pastor Sean said that the Devil knows the Word of God, but is missing something - a heart towards God. Most people miss and skip praying. Would you describe your prayer time as more personal or programmed and why? How does praying to you Heavenly Father change or should change your prayer life?

3. The Bible says that God’s name is to be “hallowed.” Hallowed means set apart, kept holy, revered and honored. We have to acknowledge full heartedly that HE IS and I AM NOT! Describe in your won words, what is it about our God that sets him apart? Why do you personally revere Him? Respond to this quote from Pastor Sean: ”the Devil knows this Book, if apart from God, is just an idol to be worshipped.” Why is it not enough just to know the Word of God?

4. Matthew 6:10 says, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” If you had to identify whose Kingdom you are investing in based on your spending, your time, your priorities, and habits, whose Kingdom are your building? What would it take to full heartedly say, “God, Your ways are better than any other ways?”

5. In Matthew 26, Jesus voluntarily surrendered His will to the will of the Father in all things three times in a row- including surrendering his life! Are you willingly submitting yourself to God's purpose, way, plan, and his glory? Why or why not? What areas of your life tends to be more selfish and needs to be surrounded to God?

6. Pastor Sean talked about how because someone gave his grandpa Jack had a Bible to hold onto as he stormed the beach of Saipan in WWII. Even though WWII is long over, we are still in a spiritual battle for soul and when you give the Word of God goes out and changes lives. What is it that motivates you to give to God? What holds you back from being even more generous? Stop and pray! Rest in your Father's arms, and ask Him what type of personal culture of giving He want you to have.
