(John 16:33 NIV) "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
(Psalm 34:19 NLT) The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.
(Psalm 62:5-8 NLT) Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. ~ Selah
• Time

(Psalm 39:5 NLT) You have made my life no longer than the width of my hand. My entire lifetime is just a moment to you; at best, each of us is but a breath.

(Daniel 5:25-28 NIV) "This is the inscription that was written: mene, mene, tekel, parsin "Here is what these words mean: Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end. Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting. Peres: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians."

1. Our days are numbered.
2. Our lives are out of balance.
3. It will cost you something.
• Money

(1 Timothy 6:6-10 NLT) Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can't take anything with us when we leave it. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

(Psalm 62:5 NIV) Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.
(Jeremiah 6:16 NLT) This is what the LORD says: "Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, 'No, that's not the road we want!'

• Rest is not trouble free but grace filled.
1. Live with a sense of purpose & urgency.

(Jeremiah 29:11 NLT) For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Am I investing my time and money in my purpose?

(Matthew 13:44 NLT) "The Kingdom of Heaven is like a treasure that a man discovered hidden in a field. In his excitement, he hid it again and sold everything he owned to get enough money to buy the field.
2. Put first things first.

(Psalm 90:12 TLB) Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are; help us to spend them as we should.

(Matthew 6:33 NLT) Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
3. Keep my heart and hope set on heaven.

(2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT) That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
