CONNECT WITH US
Whether you are NEW online or visiting one of our campuses, we would love to get a chance to know you.
https://cckc.church/bcConversation Starters
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.
1. Read Romans 5:6-11.
2. What stood out to you from the passage?
3. What stood out to you from the sermon?
4. Consider the unprecedented reality in verse 8 that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Is there anything in your life you are holding onto or trying to “fix” before allowing yourself to receive God’s love? What would it look like for you to live in acknowledgement of being reconciled to God now, even while you're still struggling with sin?
5. How will you apply this to your life? What are you going to do, be, or think differently because of this truth?

" An enemy is anyone who feels like they are not on “my” side." - Jim Wilder
> Have you ever felt like God isn’t on your side?
“...ask me if I’m at war with God, I likely will tell you that I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m a Christian and Christians know that God loves us. He’s not at war with us.”

“If we are looking for a definition of love, we should look not in a dictionary, but at Calvary.”
- John Stott

“...we recognize that our easier, natural tendency is a path of violence. It requires far more energy, far more effort to turn away wrath with a soft response than it does to respond in like manner. Violence is easy. Peacemaking is herculean.” - Curt Thompson, The Deepest Place
> God is not your enemy
> Three Ways to Enjoy God’s Friendship:
#1 Listen to God’s side of the story.
#2 Assume God has good intentions.
#3 Acknowledge feelings and practice being vulnerable in small steps.

… ‘knowing’ God is of necessity a more complex business than ‘knowing’ a fellow-man, just as ‘knowing’ my neighbor is a more complex business than ‘knowing’ a house, or a book, or a language. The more complex the object, the more complex is the knowing of it.”
