Scripture can give you instruction on how to live life, but more importantly its purpose is to align your heart with the redemptive narrative of God’s heart.

-God wants to know me

-Praying Through Scripture:

1. God, what are you teaching me through this passage?
2. How does this passage demonstrate your heart?
3. How can I know you through this scripture?
4. In light of this scripture, is there anything you’re asking me to change?

-Lectio Divina “Divine Reading”
1. Prayer preparation
2. Reading of Scripture
3. Meditate on the Scripture (Examine your thoughts, memories, emotions, images… etc.)
4. Pray again, but this time over what is sticking out to yo
5. Then Contemplate the scripture. Chew on it. Allow it to seep into your soul.
4. Seeking to hastily apply Scripture can limit my transformation through Scripture
3. Learning Through the Silence
-Scripture is a weapon and should be handled carefully

-We need to adopt safe handling practices of Scripture

“You better make sure you know God's voice
before you start weaponizing His word”

If you engage with the Bible and are not transformed, then you’ve solely read the Bible, you have not experienced it, you have not participated in Lectio Divina.
“The Bible will not save you, but the Bible should direct you to the one who can!”
