1. Joshua was to be commissioned.
2. God was present.
“The cloud served both to obscure the otherwise intolerable brilliance of God’s immanence and to reveal the otherwise undetectable hiddenness of his transcendence. Such a display provided undeniable evidence of the presence of Yahweh—to both Moses and Joshua nearby and surely to the assembly from a distance—and it certified that something significant was about to transpire.” (Cornerstone Biblical Commentary, Lev.-Deut., Comfort, 646)
3. The Israelites are told the future.
4. Joshua is commissioned.
God’s commissioning is more important than man’s commissioning.
Everyone of us is called to do these things: 1. Trust in God with His authority. 2. Make disciples of ALL nations. 3. Baptize people. 4. Teach people about God. 5. Trust God is with you.
I am commissioned by God
To trust in His Authority
To make disciples of ALL nations
To baptize people
To teach people about God
To trust that God is with me
To trust in His Authority
To make disciples of ALL nations
To baptize people
To teach people about God
To trust that God is with me

2. Are you one that needs to transfer leadership to someone else? Are you one who needs to step into leadership (even if you don't think you are qualified and experienced enough)? How do you put plans into place to make that happen?
3. What insights did you receive in knowing that God is present with us?
4. How do you think the Israelites handled the news that God was telling them they would rebel?
5. Did you think of other Biblical leaders who stood alone for the Lord?
6. How will the Great Commission be lived out in your life this week?
