Key Theme:
The tongue is a restless evil and directs our path, steers many things, ignites fires, and is a reflection of the heart.

Key Application:
To tame the tongue we must seek to change the heart by the power of the Spirit.

Key Verse:
Ephesians 4:29 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear."

Key Questions:
1. In what ways have you seen the “tongue” steer towards life and or death? Consider work, school, home, this may be a time to share hurts you have experienced from others.

2. Write down or discuss 3 ways you have seen your own tongue ignite something in a negative way? Discuss how and why that was a reflection of the heart.

3. What changes do you plan to make regarding your tongue? How will you move to let God work in your heart more? Accountability? Asking others how they hear you? Etc…
Resources for today’s sermon are available upon request in the church office.

Give Online

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
