James 2:22

I. Justifying works
a. Faith active alongside works
b. Faith is completed in works
c. Works not in faith are sin

Romans 14:23

II. Dead works

Matthew 7:22-23

Key Theme:
Faith without works of faith is dead, useless, unemployed.

Key Application:
Seek to walk IN faith, making every work proceed FROM faith, and every work ALONGSIDE faith.

Key Verse:
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

James 2:16 “faith apart from works is dead.”

Key Questions:
1. Is your faith, what you say you believe, daily employed and active in HOW you live?

2. Write down ways in which you at times fall into the trap of trying to trust in your works to KEEP or MAKE God happy with you? Are those works proceeding from faith? Why?

3. How can you encourage those in your circles of influence to live by faith?
Resources for today’s sermon are available upon request in the church office.

Give Online

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
