“The God Kind of Faith”

Introduction:
We’re on a 40 Day spiritual journey designed to strengthen and build our faith, to see God’s miraculous power released in and through our lives.

We’re receiving Faith to:

a. Lay hold of all of God’s promises.
b. To overcome life’s challenges.

Faith to walk in:

a. God’s Peace and Joy.
b. God’s Provision.
c. God’s Protection.
d. God’s Healing and Deliverance.

Last week we spoke about the four Pillars of Faith:

1. Faith must believe.
2. Faith must speak.
3. Faith must act.
4. Faith works by love.

Today we will look at the God kind of faith from the example of Jesus.

Jesus’ words affected the roots of the tree first.

ROOTS: the unseen realm or spiritual world.
LEAVES: the seen realm or natural world.

Our words can release life or death.

3 keys to releasing the God Kind of Faith.

1. Our words spoken in faith first have an effect in the unseen realm, before their effect becomes visible in the seen realm.

The Greek scholar A.T. Robertson says: “Have the God kind of Faith”

Our life today is the result of:

1. Decisions we’ve made.
2. The words we’ve spoken.

a. Notice in Mark 11:14, Jesus wasn’t asking His Father for anything.

b. He spoke to the fig tree directly and used the God kind of faith to make a declaration that produced a noticeable change in the space of 24 hours.

c. Contrary to popular opinion, when Jesus ministered to people, He didn’t ask God to heal them or cast demons out of them.

d. Jesus used the God kind of faith and commanded sickness to leave people and demons to come out of them.

Rebuked - forbid, charge or command.

Jesus did all these things with and by the God kind of faith.

2. As God’s children, we’ve been given authority to use the God Kind of Faith to carry out His will in the earth.

The instructions:

a. v.22 Have the faith of God / the God kind of faith.
b. v.23 Say to this “mountain” / sickness, problems, etc.
c. v.23 Believe what you say will happen.

The conditions:

a. v.23 Do not doubt in your heart.

The result:

a. v.23 It will be done. You shall have it.
You’ll notice in the NKJV how the word ‘believe’ is only mentioned ‘once’, but the word ‘speak’ is mentioned ‘three times.’

3. Once you believe (trust) focus more on speaking and declaring.

It’s not the size of your faith that counts, it’s what you do with it that counts. Faith has to be released from our hearts by speaking faith-filled words.
Faith ‘comes’ by hearing and faith ‘goes’ by speaking.
Kenneth Hagin taught that there are two types of Confessions of God’s Word:

a. The Confession unto faith.

When believers first start to confess God’s Word, they do so to fill their heart with faith.

b. The Confession of faith.

Once a believer’s heart is filled with faith, their confession becomes a confession of faith. They are ready to release faith from their heart by speaking faith-filled words.

Faith project:

1. Speak faith-filled words everyday along with corresponding actions that demonstrate you have an expectation for your end result.

2. Study the biblical accounts in Luke 4:39, Luke 8:24-25, Mark 1:25-26, and John 11:43-44 that show how Jesus used faith to command deliverance, healing, and wholeness. Reflect on these examples and contemplate how you can assert your authority by commanding the fulfillment of God’s promises in your life.
