“Four Foundations of Faith”

Introduction:
What is faith, and what is it for?

We’re continuing our “40 Days of Faith” Campaign. We’re on a 40 Day spiritual journey designed to strengthen and build our faith, to see God’s miraculous power released in and through our lives in a fresh way.
Faith to:

a. Lay hold of all of God’s promises.
b. Overcome life’s challenges.
Faith to walk in:

a. God’s Peace and Joy.
b. God’s Provision.
c. God’s Protection.
d. God’s Healing and Deliverance.
Last week’s essentials for developing overcoming faith were:

1. Faith is always FOR something.
2. Who has faith?
3. It is our responsibility to develop and grow our measure of faith.
4. What is faith?
5. How do I get faith?
Today we’ll do a (w)holistic overview of faith, and list the four pillars, or four main components of faith.
Any solid building or structure requires strong pillars or load-bearing walls. So it is with our faith, strong faith requires four pillars to keep it stable and operational.
Notice these 3 words: ... faith ... must believe ...
1. First Pillar. Faith must believe.
Faith that doesn’t believe isn’t faith.

It is our faith that gives substance to our hopes and dreams.
vs. 3... it (his believing) was accounted to him for righteousness.
Abraham heard God’s Word and faith came into his heart… and he believed!

*Genesis 15:6 says: ... Abraham believed in God ...
*Romans 4:3 says: ... Abraham believed God...
*Real Bible Faith does both:

a. Faith believes in God. (in His existence)
b. Faith believes God. (the Word that He has spoken)
2. Second Pillar. Faith must speak.
a. Real Bible Faith engages our mouth to speak words of faith.

b. We are not saved until we profess our faith with our mouth by declaring Jesus Christ the Lord of our lives.

c. Believing alone is not enough.

d. We must speak our faith with our mouth and declare what we believe.
Paul quoted the psalmist from Psalms 116:10 who said that he believed and therefore spoke.
a. Faith always says what God says.
b. Faith always speaks the desired end result.
c. Anyone who doesn’t have faith will speak only facts.
*God called Abraham a father before Abraham had a child..
a. God called Abraham a father of many nations long before Isaac was conceived.

b. God calls those things that do not (yet) exist as though they did.

c. God speaks the desired end result.

d. He spoke to Abraham in the past tense. (I have made you ....)
Anyone who has real Bible faith will do the same:

a. Call those things that do not (yet) exist as though they did.
b. Speak the desired end result.
3. Third Pillar. Faith must act.
Real Bible faith will always produce a corresponding action along with our believing and our speaking.
4. Fourth Pillar. Faith works through (by) love.
When we walk by faith, we give love a high priority in our lives. Why? Because faith (is) working through love.
a. Faith is the ACTIVATOR.

b. Love is the MOTIVATOR.
*Once we begin to walk by faith, engaging in quarrelling and in strife is no longer an option.
Faith project:

1. Evaluate your faith in your project and ensure that your belief is unwavering based on James 1:6-8.

2. Once you are sure you believe in your faith project without any doubts, spend this week making confessions that reinforce your belief.

3. If you have any unforgiveness or strife with someone, take steps this week to resolve it. By operating in forgiveness and love, you endure that you do not impede progress with your faith project. Remember, faith works by love.

4. What can you do this week that corresponds with your faith project that demonstrates through action you believe.
