“40 Days of Faith” Week 2 “Faith to Overcome”

Introduction:
What is faith, and what is it for?

We are continuing on our 40 Day spiritual journey of strengthening and building our faith to see God’s miraculous power released in our lives in a fresh way.
We need:

a. Faith to lay hold of all of God’s promises.
b. Faith to overcome life’s challenges.
We need faith to walk in:

a. God’s Peace and Joy
b. God’s Provision.
c. God’s Protection.
d. God’s Healing and Deliverance.
Let’s look at five fundamentals of faith.

1. Faith is always FOR something.
*Notice the words: ... faith for salvation...

*Faith is always for something. Faith has been designed to produce something.
Faith is always supposed to have an end result (NASB - outcome).
There is:

a. Faith for salvation. (1 Peter 1:5)
b. Faith for divine healing. (Acts 14:9)
c. Faith for divine provision. (Philippians 4:19)
d. Faith for divine protection. (Psalm 91:10)
e. Faith to command storms to be still. (Luke 8:24-25)
In the Bible, we see two distinct types or aspects of faith.

A. Our personal faith.
*Romans 12:3 NKJV

B. The gift of faith.
* 1 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV
For our study during the “40 Days of Faith” Campaign, we mainly discuss Type A, our personal faith, and how to develop it to function at a high capacity.
2. Who has faith?
*Romans 12:3 NKJV
a. Every believer starts with the same measure of faith.
b. There is no superior measure and no inferior measure of faith.
c. God gave us all the right measure of genuine Bible faith when we were born again.
a. Not everyone has faith.

b. Every human being has a natural human faith, but only born-again believers have genuine bible faith.

c. Of course, if lost people have the gospel preached to them, they receive faith for salvation.

d. To reiterate, only born-again believers receive the measure of faith.
3. It is our responsibility to develop and grow our measure of faith.
a. Just like physical muscle can be developed to lift bigger weights, our faith can grow to handle more significant projects, assignments, and greater challenges.
4. What is faith?
a. Faith is the substance (essence) of things we hope for (God’s promises produce hope and dreams in our lives).

b. Faith is the evidence (conviction) of things not (yet) seen. Faith is the conviction that God’s promises not (yet) seen are true.

c. Faith is designed to give substance to your hopes and dreams.

d. Then faith brings those hopes and dreams into reality.

e. Faith is the title deed of the promises of God.

f. Faith is the biblical lifestyle of believers.
5. How do I increase my faith?
a. Jesus encouraged the apostles to learn how to use the faith they had.
As we hear God’s Word repeatedly, it helps to increase our faith in that area.
Conclusion:

Faith project week two:

1. Feed your faith through consistent reading and hearing of God’s Word. Keep allowing it to process and nourish your spirit.

2. To stay built up, incorporate daily prayer and devotions into your life.

3. Additionally, engage in the practice of meditating on God’s Word and make it a habit to confess it daily. This reinforces your beliefs and affirms your connection to Him.
