And, know this, I am with you always, to the very end.

What does it mean to be the church of Jesus Christ? During this 8-week series, we will focus on what it means to be the community of believers. This week, our focus is on recognizing our forgiveness and who we are called to be as a witnessing community.
1. The purpose of the Great Commission is making disciples. That is the imperative. That is the command. That is what the Church of Jesus Christ is about.
--What are you doing to make disciples?
--How are you helping others to take the next step of discipleship?
--What does a fully devoted disciple of Jesus look like?
--How does said disciple live his life? What areas of discipleship are your strength?
--What areas are weak and need strengthening? Who is discipling you? --
--How have you grown in your faith in the past year?
2. Most translations mistranslate the Great Commandment. The word “go” is not in the imperative form. It is a participle just like “baptizing” and “teaching.” The word “go” should be translated as “going,” or as Young’s Authorized Version puts it, “As you go, wherever you are, make disciples…” It means that as a believer, we are constantly looking to help others take the next step of discipleship throughout the day.
