“KNOWING IS GROWING”
1. A Christian’s knowledge should affect the way they live.
2. 2 Peter 3:18 - “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (NIV)
3. Spiritual growth. most often happens whenever doing follows hearing.
Charles Spurgeon said… “Study well the Scriptures and get knowledge, for a knowledge of doctrine will tend very much to confirm faith. Try to understand God’s Word; let it dwell in thy heart richly.”
4. Colossians 3:16 - “Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise.”
5. We should be increasing our understanding for one primary purpose...to bring our faith to maturity.
6. God is truth; He cannot lie.

Study the Bible
Journal
Meditation

Sermon Discussion Questions

1. To whom, or to what, do you seek to obtain the right perspectives… and determine your source of values?

2. In what ways do you find yourself leaning upon your understanding… or looking to the world’s systems… to discover the truth? (Proverbs 3:5-6)

3. In your opinion, why do so many still try to do life apart from the knowledge and wisdom of God… when God’s Word provides us with His understanding and direction?

4. Based upon Proverbs 2:1-5… discuss your findings to this question: “Why do we go our own way, looking within our minds, when we figure out life… when God makes spiritual knowledge readily available to diligent seekers?”

5. Spend a few minutes meditating on Colossians 1:9-10. Write down at least two thoughts that the Holy Spirit helped you notice.
