Obedience is the key opening up Gods blessings and disobedience is a path for destruction.

Obedience is something that God asks from us.

Every individual, family, country has a choice: We either have regeneration or degeneration: obedience or disobedience.
Manasseh didn’t follow his fathers example, but gave himself to the culture of the day.
Living in obedience means to stop starving the Spirit. When you starve the Spirit, it gets quiet, but when you feed it the loudness of the body and soul are muted.

We all have a choice to make: do we create portals of Hell or of Heaven?
Talk it Over
1. What did God say to you from the message? What affirmed your walk with God? What stuck out and challenged your walk with God?

2. In your own words describe what Barry is saying in this quotes: 1."Obedience is the key opening up God’s blessings and disobedience is a path for destruction.” 2. “Living in obedience means to stop starving the Spirit. When you starve the Spirit, it gets quiet, but when you feed it the loudness of the body and soul are muted.” 3. “We all have a choice to make: do we create portals of Hell or portals of Heaven?”

3. In 2 Kings 21:5-6 Manasseh “in the two courts of the temple of the Lord, built altars to all the starry hosts. He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced divination, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.” Manasseh didn’t follow his fathers example, instead gave himself to the culture of the day. Is there a part of you that has given back to the culture? How has that effected your life?

4. In 2 Kings 18:3-4 Hezekiah "did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done. He removed the high places.” He cut down and destroyed the pagan high places - places where people worshipped other gods. They decided what was best, instead of listening to God alone. What are the high places exist in our culture today that we often build and worship at? If there is one high place in your life that needs to be cut down what would it be? What would it look like to be obedient to Christ in that area?

5. Read out loud Deuteronomy 30:15-20. What does this passage say about how to be obedient? What promises does God have for those that are obedient? If you want to get serious about following God what do you believe are best practices of living an obedient life? Barry mentioned searching scripture, praying, but also to have godly men and women in your life that can confirm or contradict your decisions? Who do you have in your life currently? Who do you need to get around and have them help guide your life? Your journey with obedience starts today. What is your first step?
What did God say to you from the message? What affirmed your walk with God? What stuck out and challenged your walk with God?
