Title: Pray at Your Own Risk
Speaker: Jerry Ferrso
Psalms 139 is one of those Psalms that brings loads of comfort
into our hearts!
The first half of this Psalm David is praising his God for His
amazing/divine attributes:
1. For His Omniscience
1. For His Omnipresence
i. Death won’t hide us from God
ii. Distance won't hide us from God
iii. Darkness won't hide us from God
3. For His Omnipotence
These 4 requests are NOT for…
- The Cold-hearted Christian.
- It is not for the Callous Christian.
- It’s not even for the Casual Christian.
- It’s definitely not for the Complacent Christian.
- But it is certainly for the Courageous Christian.
I. Search Me - a prayer of Examination
1. A personal Invitation
a. This was a Sincere request!
b. This also was a Serious Request!
2. A profound Integrity
II. Know Me - a prayer of Perception
1. Our Heart
Our Thoughts
III. Try Me - a prayer of Consecration
1. Expect the testings
2. Embrace the testing
3. Be Excited about the testings
4. Exalt Him through the testings
IV. Lead me - a prayer of Dedication
1. Lead me from Satanic Deception
a. The Desire vs14 “Lust” emotion
b. The Deception vs14 “drawn away, enticed” intellect
c. The Disobedience vs15 “sin” will
d. The Death
2. Lead me into God's Design
FOUR TAKE AWAYS:

1. He felt totally confident that God could see through
all disguises.

2. David thoroughly wanted to be acquainted with
himself.

3. David wanted to discover if he had any hidden sin in
his life.

4. He longed for his God to be pleased with his conduct
and desired to walk in God’s way and not his way.
