Almost everyone of you sitting here today are influencing at least someone else in your life and in essence, you are unofficially, a leader.
God calls the temple in Jerusalem in Nehemiah 1:9 “the place I have chosen as a dwelling for My Name.”
1) God does not rush into fix a major problem?
2) We are humans, we are smart, we can fix this, sometimes we even pretend to play God.
3) Nehemiah meets with God before he meets with men.
Idolatry: replacing God with a blind, excessive devotion to something or someone else.
Who really owns your devotion? Who has your heart? Who owns your affections? What gets your best time? What matters most?
4) We are stewards, keepers, managers of God’s property. We really own nothing!
5) Chapter 4:9…we prayed and we posted guards to meet this threat.
6) Chapter 6:15-16…this work has been done with the help of our God.
Are you leading alone? Chapter 3 “next to him” repeats nearly 20 times.
All of this – “To know God so they could make Him known.”
