The Blessings That Accompany Justification:

1. We have peace with God (v. 1)

Isaiah 32:17

2. We have access into God’s grace (v. 2a)

Romans 8:38-39

3. We have confident assurance that we will experience and enjoy the glory of God (v. 2b)

Peace with God takes care of the past…
Access to His grace takes care of the present…
Hope of the glory of God takes care of the future… (Wiersbe, Be Right)

4. We can rejoice in our sufferings (vv. 3-4)

4. Adopt a new perspective on suffering.


5. Bask in the love of God and in the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life.

Stephen Ministry

We are preparing to launch a new ministry at Hillside. Stephen Ministry will equip members of our congregation to provide Christ-centered, one-to-one, emotional and spiritual care to people experiencing life difficulties. Training for Stephen Ministers will begin in September. Please contact Shawn Bowen, Kristi Bowen, or Robin Mathias if you have any questions.

If you are considering being a Stephen Minister and need more information, please join us for an information meeting right after the service today.

If you have already attended an information meeting and are working on your application, please submit it as soon as possible.

No Sunday School in July

During the month of July, there will be no Sunday School for elementary-aged children (Kindergarten - 5th grade). The Nursery and Preschool classrooms will remain open.

Church Barbecue - July 2

Please join us for a barbecue right after the service next Sunday. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, dessert, and beverages will be provided!

Women's Ministry - Summer Schedule

Hillside women (high school age and up) bring a friend and join us this summer to soak up the longer days! We will meet at 6:30pm on the second and fourth Mondays from June-August. On the second Monday, we will have dessert at Valerie Semich’s house (near church). On the fourth Monday, we will meet at Norman D Park for a hike, walk, or sit on a bench as abilities allow. KIDS CAMP - July 17-21

Kids Clothes Swap - July 22

The Golden Kids Clothes Swap is happening on Saturday, July 22, from 9:00-11:00am in the lower parking lot of the church. You can donate kids clothing and books and/or volunteer help set up on July 21 from 5:30-7:30pm. Or, you can just show up on Saturday for free kids' clothing and books. Email for more information.

Women's Ministry: The Women's Bible study and the Women's TableTop Fellowship will resume meeting in the fall. Informal women's gatherings will be held on the second and fourth Mondays through the summer.

Men's Ministry: The Men's Bible study will resume meeting in the fall. The men's gatherings on the second Thursday of the month will continue through the summer.

Young Adults: The Young Adults group will resume meeting in the fall. Keep an eye on the weekly email for informal gatherings during the summer.

Youth Group: Youth Group meets on Sunday mornings during the service. Check the website for other summer activities.
