(Matthew 4:18-19 NLT) One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers--Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew--throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living. Jesus called out to them, "Come, follow me, and I will....

(Matthew 4:19 NLT) ". . . . how to fish for people!”
• Followers fish.
1. Fishing is fun.

(Luke 15:10 MSG) (when a person meets Jesus) ... God’s angels throw every time one lost soul turns to God.” '

(2 Corinthians 5:18-20 NLT) And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people's sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us.
2. Fishing is unavoidable.

(Romans 10:13-14 NLT) For "Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved." But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
3. Jesus told us to go fishing.

(Matthew 28:19 NLT) Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(Mark 16:15 NIV) He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

(Luke 24:47-48 NIV) and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, . . . You are witnesses of these things.

(John 20:21 NLT) Again he said, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you."

(Acts 1:8 NLT) . . . And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
4. Someone fished for me.

• Why do we fish? Because God never stopped searching for me.

(2 Corinthians 5:14 NIV) For Christ's love compels us, ...
To fix:
2.Connect and remain.
(John 15:4-5 NLT) 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 5 Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
