Teaching Point: Verse 1-2

God will help in times of trouble, not protect us from times of trouble

Teaching Point: Verse 2 Times of Change

Teaching Point: Verse 4 and 5

First the Psalmist doesn't deny times of change, challenge, disruption and difficulty

Secondly we also read of God's involvement, protection, being a refuge as well

God doesn't protect you from challenges, he is with you in them

He is our protection when we learn to be still in his presence

We need to learn to be still and experience and encounter God - that's when we find His presence, His protection, His help

He means encountering and experiencing the living God who brings peace, strength and help

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ,
Have mercy on me, a sinner.

Main Point: That God is our help in times of trouble, and we need to learn to be still and encounter Him

- Be still and encounter God
- Name the things you are carrying, name your burdens, challenges, fears, hurts, hates, or whatever might be there

Challenge:

Use this time to seek to be still and know that God is with you
