YOU SHOULD NOT WANT A LAZY RIVER LIFE.
(Hebrews 2:1 NLT) 1 So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may DRIFT AWAY from it.

1. We just need an ESCAPE.
(Matthew 11:28 NLT) 28 Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Most of us go through life praying a little, planning a little, jockeying for position, hoping but never being quite certain of anything, and always secretly afraid that we will miss the way. This is a tragic waste of truth and NEVER GIVES REST TO THE HEART. A.W. Tozer

2. We fall into MENTAL RUTS.
(Romans 12:2 NLT) 2 Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by CHANGING THE WAY YOU THINK. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

3. We stop NOTICING GOD.
(Hosea 13:6 NIV) 6 When I fed them, they were satisfied; but when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me.

To fix:
1. Decide to change.
(Philippians 2:13 NLT) 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
(Psalm 103:13-14 NLT) 13 The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.14 For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.

To fix:
2.Connect and remain.
(John 15:4-5 NLT) 4 Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me. 5 Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

3. Anchor your soul.
(Hebrews 6:18-19 NLT) 18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. 19 This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God's inner sanctuary.
