We are launching a new series this week called "Legendary". It's a series about some of the most famous and greatest stories from the Bible and how we can still learn so much from them today. Let's begin with the first big story in the Bible; Adam and Eve in Eden. It's where we are introduced to our context of Sin and our need for a Savior. Their story is our story, it's not just about what happened to them back then, but what continues to happen over and over inside of us.
Read Genesis 2:16-17. When was a time in your life that you can remember having clear instructions and choosing not to follow them, even though you knew it was wrong?

Genesis 2:16-17

Read Genesis 3:1-13. Jonathan pointed out that there is a pattern in this story and that this pattern is still how the Evil One works. How do you see Adam and Eve in yourself?
- Exaggeration: never, always, only one, no one knows
- Lies: misinformation, lack of truth, partial truth
- Lack of trust: Relationships, money, health
- Sin: disregard, disobey, give-in to desire
- Blame/excuses: not my fault, victim, rationalize

Genesis 3:1-13

Their story doesn’t end there and neither does ours! God promised to bring it all back to Good. Read Romans 5:17. How did Jesus solve the problem of sin?

Romans 5:17

We already referenced previously some of the ways we see Adam and Eve in ourselves. Now let's ask ourselves one simple question, "How am I looking to Jesus?". It's not just about avoiding sin, but going further and embracing His best. How are you doing this?
Pray over your next steps on your faith journey.
