Whatever Became of Sin
Romans 7:7-13
Romans 7:7-13
We were all born with sin.
The law helps us recognize sin.
Grace is greater than all our sin.
Whatever happened to sin? How seriously do we take sin anymore?
And what happens in a person or a culture or a society or nation when sin is practiced but not admitted?
And what happens in a person or a culture or a society or nation when sin is practiced but not admitted?
“The Gospel is only for sinners and for those who recognize their need of it…once we trust in Christ, so the thinking goes, we no longer need the Gospel. But the Gospel is a vital gift from God not only for our salvation but also to enable us to deal with the ongoing activity of sin in our lives. So, we still need the Gospel every day.” – Jerry Bridges
The law puts a spotlight on our sin.
TODDLERS CREED:
If I want it, it’s mine.
If I give it to you, and change my mind later, it’s mine.
If I can take it away from you, it’s mine.
If I had it a little while ago, it’s mine.
If it’s mine, it will never belong to anyone else, no matter what.
If we are building something together, all the pieces are mine.
If it looks just like mine, it’s mine.
The law stimulates sin within us.
The law deceives us.
God takes sin seriously, and so should we!
Remember, Repent & Redo
Remember where you came from and whose you are!
Get yourself out of the center of your Christianity. It’s not about you, it’s all about Him!
Let’s call sin “sin” and own it!
Gods call to grow is not an obligation but an invitation of freedom and is essential to live fully in Christ.
