(Deuteronomy 30:19 NLT) "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!

(Proverbs 2:11 NLT) Wise choices will watch over you. ...
(John 10:3-5 NLT) . . . the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. . . . they follow him because they know his voice. They won't follow a stranger; they will run from him because they don't know his voice."
• All of us can hear God.

• All of us can miss it too.

(1 John 4:1 NLT) ... do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world.
(Proverbs 14:12 NIV) There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.
• Does it line up with the Word?

God's voice will never contradict his Word.

(2 Peter 1:19 KJV) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; ....

(2 Timothy 3:16 NIV) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

(Numbers 23:19 NLT) God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. ...
• Does it make you more like Him? (Jesus)

(John 3:30 NLT) He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

(1 John 2:5-6 NIV) But if anyone obeys his word, love for God is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.
• Does Godly counsel agree?

* This is not shopping for a yes.
* You have to be willing to hear no.
* There is a difference between godly and good.

(Proverbs 12:15 NIV) The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listento advice.
• Do I have peace?

(1 Corinthians 14:33 NLT) For God is not a God of disorder but of peace, . . . (absence of peace)
(Philippians 4:6-9 NLT) Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. ... Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.... Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me.... Then the God of peace will be with you.
