A Life of Worship: Part 3 of 3
Worship: Every Moment
Pastor Adam Parmenter
Worship in the Old Covenant
· שָׁחָה / shachah - Bow, prostrate in submission (Psalm 95:6).
· Exacting as to location, furnishings, and forms
· Fellowship with God: At a distance
Jesus Changed Worship
Jesus' birth removed the distance

Matthew 1:21-23

Jesus' shed blood removed our sin debt
τελέω / teleo
· to bring to a close, complete, fulfill as commanded. To pay.

John 19:28-30

Over the many hours on the cross, Jesus lips, tongue and throat became very dry. Unable to croak out much. The sour wine hydrated his mouth and made it water. Then he was able burst forth loudly “TELEO”
Jesus death satisfied all the righteous requirements of God’s holy law.
Jesus’ death removed the barrier

Matthew 27:50-51

2 Corinthians 3:16-18

Jesus changed the kingdom from physical to spiritual

Luke 17:20-21

John 4:23-24

Jesus' death, burial and resurrection changed the temple from physical to spiritual

Hebrews 9:11

1 Corinthians 6:18-20

Jesus was the final, once-for-all sacrifice

Hebrews 10:11-14

Sin has been fully cleansed, not simply covered.
My life a “living” sacrifice
service / λατρεία / latreia – service of God (i.e. worship)

Romans 12:1

My words: a “fellowship” offering

Hebrews 13:15

My prayers are like the incense in the Holy Place

Psalms 141:2

Revelation 5:7-8

Worship is my life

1 Corinthians 10:31

Philippians 1:20

· Shirley Means (Miriam Bryant's sister) is receiving therapy and hopes to go home soon. She is in Henderson, Nevada.
· Caroline Bocock has been terribly ill as she is dealing with a Lyme Disease outbreak. Some of her symptoms included being in excruciating pain, having blackouts, issues with sleeping, darkening vision, random skin issues, a constant headache since 11/5, and so much more. She is taking a regiment of medications to get it under control.
· Nolan Marshall (son of Dan & Tracy) is receiving outpatient therapy but hasn’t found an even keel yet. He has been allowed to return to the school environment with many boundaries in place. The Marshall family is still very much in crisis mode and continued prayers are appreciated as they try to adjust medications and work with Nolan to manage his diagnoses.
· Joyce Bocock has completed chemo and radiation; praise God that both tumors have shrunk significantly more than expected; evaluating additional treatment options.
· Check out our monthly prayer card on-line at southhavenfbc.com under “Weekly Bulletins” for a list of those with on-going needs.
