This week we're beginning a new series that we are calling, "Breaking the Law". It's a series about sin, what being a sinner is really about, and how to not let sinning define your journey with God.
To get started, what comes to mind when you hear the word "sin" and why?
There are some "sins" that have changed through the course of centuries and culture. What are some examples of this?
Read Romans 3:23-24 and 2 Corinthians 5:19-21. What do these verses illustrate about God's love toward us?
Read Romans 8:1-2 and Hebrews 10:10. Pastor Jonathan said that "what began at a tree (in Eden) was ended at a tree (the Cross). Break it down, what does this truly mean?
So with that in mind, "sin" is no longer God's point of reference for Sinners, Jesus is. Why is it so important to trust Jesus?
Life is not meant to be about managing sins but rather about trusting a Savior. That is not to say that sin is not a big deal, it is, look at the Cross! What are some steps that you can take over the next few weeks to trust Jesus more?
