Talk It Over

1. Listen to the song, “Firm Foundation (He Won’t)” by Cody Carnes. What did God say to you through this song? What lyrics confirmed the things of God in your heart. What lyrics challenged your view of yourself or God?

2. Pastor Sean started out with this question, “What keeps you up in the middle of the night?” In a moment of being real and transparent, how would you answer that question?

3. Matthew 7:24-27 says, "“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. In this parable what makes the wise person wise? The foolish man build his house on the sand and it fell. Would you say your house is built more on the sand or on the rock? Why?

4. Pastor Sean shared his story of walking through a storm alongside his foster daughter and family. How did that story speak to you? What storm have you walked through and what did God teach you?

5. Luke 6:48 says, "They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. Pastor Sean said, "It’s no longer enough to just go to church, I’m building my life of you Jesus!” If you were to put to practice what God is saying in His word and to you what next step would you take to build your house on the rock? Who is ahead of you on this faith journey that you can “imitate their faith” so you can strengthen your foundation with God?
