Hosanna = LORD, Save us!

“A person begins to experience joy when he begins to be a Christian; when Christ begins to reign in his soul, is the object of his love, and the principle of his actions. And the more absolute this principle and love are, the more happiness he enjoys. All the poor in spirit, all who believe in God, and all who trust in Him and love Him, are blessed. They go on from strength to strength. They go on from one measure of joy to another, until what was sown on earth is taken away to a better soil and grown up to perfection in heaven.” – Charles Wesley

“The first of all Christian virtues and the foundation of all, is humility. What is humility? It is a deep sense of our spiritual poverty, and experiential knowledge that we are nothing but sin and deserve nothing but shame. There’s a clear sense that we have nothing - I can do nothing – not even think a good thought – without the assistance of the Holy Spirit.” – Charles Wesley

Jesus calls us to obedience even when we don’t understand what He is doing.

“Humility can only lead to faith; seeing our spiritual sickness makes us fly to the cure. Who can feel sick and not want to be made whole? What contrite sinner does not rejoice in the Savior? God, the Lord God, Jehovah, God over all, the God for whom all things are possible: He has promised, He has sworn to save! No, He has done more: He has bowed the heavens and come down! He has been made man! He has lived, and suffered, and died! Jesus Christ has died to save mankind!” – Charles Wesley

“If it is such a joyful thing to believe that Christ died to save sinners, what consolation must be to add hope, to be assured that He died to save us? It is a continual spring of gladness to believe that all who are faithful servants of their great Master have an eternal home in heaven, and that we can lay hold of these great and precious promises. God has opened our eyes to look into eternity, to take a view of those mansions of glory into which our blessed Lord has gone to prepare a place for us!” -Charles Wesley
