In the evening after Jesus’ death, a rich man and disciple of Jesus named Joseph who was from Arimathea, went to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body.

Joseph took the body of Jesus and placed it into a new tomb he owned, and rolled a large stone in front of the opening.

The next day, the chief priests asked Pilate to place guards at the tomb because they were afraid that some of Jesus' followers would steal the body.

Main Point: Jesus died and was buried.

After Jesus' death on the cross, He was buried and His body stayed in the tomb for three days.
