http://www.onelifeknox.com/giveBottom Line: Taking next steps is not a solo experience.
1. It's all about y'all not you.
2. Next steps are best taken together.
3. We have a responsibility to help each other keep stepping.
4. Our next steps require our presence and commitment.
START TALKING
What are some next steps in life you have taken that wouldn't have been possible on your own?
What next steps have you tried to take on your own, but it was either impossible to really do or it ended in a bad way because you tried it?

START THINKING
Read Hebrews 10:19-22. Who is this passage written to? How does this change the meaning compared to if it was written to just one person or to just you?
What do you think is the significance of who this is written to in the context of such a clear presentation of the gospel message like we see in this passage? How does it bring clarity to what God really intends for us as we follow Jesus?
In Hebrews 10:19-22, the writer uses the culture of those he's writing to as a way to make a connection to the Gospel. If we were to re-write this as if it was written to us in East Tennessee in 2023, what would we say? Instead of talking about the Temple (Holy Place, curtain, etc.) and High Priest what might we use that our culture would relate to while presenting the same truths? How does this help you understand this passage better?

START SHARING
Why do you think we are more likely to be private in our faith with a "It's between me and God" mentality? When have you found this to be the way you approached faith, even if you didn't realize it? What steps have you taken to not be alone in your next steps, and how did it make a difference?
Read Hebrews 10:23-24. When have you had other people help you hold tightly and keep the faith? How did it make a difference? On the other hand, when have you done the same for other people? How can we motivate each other to keep stepping? What are some practical, real life things we can do for each other?
Read Hebrews 10:25. Why do you think it has become so easy to neglect meeting together? Why is this dangerous? What is the significance of the last phrase in this verse, and what is the urgency that you feel as you read this? How does that help underscore the importance of "not doing life alone" especially in terms of your spiritual journey?

START DOING
What is a step you can take to ensure you are not on a "solo" mission in your relationship with Jesus? Remember - we can all take a step regardless of where we are!
What will you do this week to encourage or motivate someone to keep stepping in their faith? What do you need to do to be available and open to receiving this in your own life?
What is one thing you can do outside of the institution/organization of church to do this in your everyday life where you live, work, and play?

START PRAYING
Pray for each other to stay connected and stepping! Pray for the next steps each of us shared. Pray for those who may have gotten disconnected and need to be encouraged and motivated to not neglect meeting together and to take steps themselves. Pray that we will do that for each other, too!
