Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our Monday lives. Please know that these questions are meant to be a resource. You do not have to follow them verbatim or get through them all. We trust you to know your group and to ask the questions based on your group needs.
1. Describe a time when you experienced a sense of unity with a group of people - at church, work, family, sports team, club, etc.
2. Read John 17:1-26 silently or aloud.
3. In verses 20-26, Jesus prays for us! What is Jesus asking for on our behalf? Why does he pray for these things?
4. What do we learn about Jesus in this passage?
5. What does this passage say about what it means for believers to follow Jesus as king?
6. How does this passage encourage and/or challenge you?
PRAYER PROMPT
Pray for unity in the church in three stages: first, pray for a spirit of unity within your community group. Then, pray for unity among our Christ Community family. Finally, pray for unity in the global church community, and that our unity would be a compelling witness that would draw others to eternal life in Jesus.

Prayer Requests
