Use this space to take your general notes during the message.
It's the third week of our Keep on Truckin' series and this week we are discussing a topic we know all too well: worry. Last week, we talked about fear and many of the principles that we discussed last week are going to apply this week as well.
Pastor Jonathan said that "worry halts progress in our faith journey". How have you seen examples of this in your own life?
The human brain is an amazing thing! We have this ability to imagine scenarios and play them out inside of our minds. We tend to take past experiences and project them on future outcomes. Most of the time, what we envision is negative. Do you find yourself forecasting the future like this?
A common question that many believers find themselves asking is, "is worry a sin?" However, this is not the best way that we can view the topic of worry. Having worries and living in a state of worry is an opportunity for something better to grow, Faith and Trust. Read Matthew 6:27, 34.

Matthew 6:27, Matthew 6:34

Now read Matthew 6:11. Why is it so difficult for us to focus on the here and now, the day by day?

Matthew 6:11

Read Philippians 4:6-7. In this passage, Paul is reminding us that worry should trigger prayer. What is your default reaction when worry strikes?

Philippians 4:6-7

Read 1 Peter 5:7. How can you remind yourself to turn to God when worry sets in?

1 Peter 5:7

The world is full of "what ifs", but as Pastor Jonathan reminded us, we need to move from a place of "what ifs" to "even ifs". Take some time and turn to God in prayer. Pray that God will help you take steps to move forward in faith and do the next right thing.
