“”One like a son of man” refers to the pre-existent, heavenly being who comes to establish the kingdom that cannot by destroyed….”the son of man” is just about “the most pretentious” title anyone could have used in the ancient Near East.”

“What he wants John to write down is not meant to scare us. It is meant to instill confidence and hope so we will not have to face the future gripped by fear.”

Key Theme:
The Son of Man is among us and tending to us and His character and might give us confidence to endure and stay strong while we wait, come what may.

Key application:
Trust in His presence, seek His presence, look to His presence to sustain and empower you in any and every circumstance.

Key verse:
Daniel 7:13-14 ““I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.

Key Questions:
1. What characteristic or image given to us through this revelation is most impactful to you and why?

2. Does it his real presence in our midst make you consider any specific changes in how you live your life? Explain

3. Why do you think God’s church needs to be tended to like a lamp? How should this effect the way you pursue walking in His presence daily?
Resources for today’s sermon are available upon request in the church office.

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
