We are continuing through our series called "What's Your Problem". Last week we talked about getting stuck in asking why. Asking why is not only normal but natural. However, when we get stuck on "why", it consumes us and it can make us bitter against God. We must move beyond the why and into the what and even more importantly, the WHO. Pastor Jonathan said that "hope must be beyond circumstances and beyond our ability to understand". What does this phrase mean to you?
Let's talk about the "what". This is when hope begins to take shape. It's where we ask God what He is wanting to do in us or through us. Let's look at the words of the wise King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 7:3 (NLT). How does sadness have a refining influence on us? Have you seen this in your own life?
Read 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV). Take some time to go to our Heavenly Father in prayer. Ask for peace and deliverance from the why, wisdom through the what, and hope in the WHO.
