Talk It Over

1. Pastor Sean said, “Don't be surprised as God promotes you new enemies emerge in your life!” Daniel 6:3 says, "Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.” How true has this been in your life? Describe the a circumstance where you had to stand against people as you stood out. How was God faithful?

2. Daniel was marked by so much consistent prayer, that prayer became he largest target on his back. If your enemies wanted to destroy you how obvious would it be to pick your PRAYER LIFE? Describe why you answered that way? If your prayer life isn't very obvious what would have to change to make it more obvious?

3. Even when Daniel knew he would be executed he prayed in front of open windows as usual. For Daniel nothing changed except his prayer request. Pastor Sean said, "We can either bow before God and stand against people or we can bow before people and stand against God.” How would you rate your boldness to go against the culture with your faith? In times that you are bold, what spiritual truths have given you that boldness? How has prayer fueled your courage?

4. Daniel 6:1 says, "A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel’s situation might not be changed.” Don’t let your situation determine your faith, let your faith determine situation - playing it safe never change a nation! What are 2-3 next steps you can take to let your faith determine your situation?

5. Because Daniel bowed before God and stood against people all through the power prayer: King Darius’ heart was changed, King Cyrus’ heart was softened and eventually would let the jewish captives not only be free, but fund the rebuilding of the temple restoring everything Babylon had plundered and a letter would go out in all languages to all nation declared God’s glory. What would happen if you were the one in your family, our city, your work, our nation, maybe even the world, who broke the rules and were marked by prayer?
