“The goal is to live it, keep it, obey it. The goal is patient endurance. The goal is to overcome this world’s pull toward compromise and apathy and idolatry. The goal is to one day be clothed in the white robes of Christ’s righteousness, to hear our names read from the Lamb’s book of life, to be sealed and sanctified and saved."

Nancy Guthrie
Key Theme:
The Triune God is present and sovereign and seeks unveil His purposes so that we might adjust our lives in light of what He is, has, and will do.

Key Application:
Obedience is the goal of revelation and with the desire to hear with intent and keep what is revealed blessing is promised.

Key Verse:
Revelation 1:3 “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.”

Key Questions:
1. Will you seek to “hear” and “keep” what has been written not only in His revelation to John but throughout His word? What are the biggest challenges you face in doing this?

2. What excites you about the blessing’s that revelation promises for us? (14:3; 16:15; 19:9; 20:6; 22:7; 22:14)

3. Look back at the character, nature, and accomplishments of our God given in 1:4-8 list the things that stick out to you. How should those things encourage you in the ebbs and flows of life?
Resources for today’s sermon are available upon request in the church office.

Give Online

Church family, we praise God for how faithfully in so many respects you give. Our church family is undeniably generous, but we still have great needs for supplication. We ask that you give joyfully, faithfully and sacrificially in response to how our great God and Savior has given to us.
