Philippians: Your Partnership in the Gospel (Verses 4-5)

SCRIPTURE
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now… Philippians 1:4-5, NIV

INTRO
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of His household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. Ephesians 2:19-20, NIV

It was built on them, but not sustained by only them.

A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other. 1 Corinthians 12:7, NLT

KOINONIA
“Participation” means to share something in common with another person.

1/ Transcendent
We partner together by accepting the grace of Christ.
We partner together by having faith.
We partner together by loving others.
We partner together by growing less like the world & more like Christ.

2/ Time
We partner together through prayer & giving thanks.
We partner together through spiritual warfare.
We partner together through fellowship.

3/ Talent
We partner together by using our natural giftings.
We partner together by using our spiritual giftings.

4/ Toil
We partner together by contributing to the needs of others.

5/ Treasure
We partner together by giving tithe.
We partner together by giving offerings.

6/ Testimony
We partner together by sharing the Gospel with other nations.
We partner together by sharing the Gospel with our nation.


Philippians: God's Work in You (Verses 4-6)

SCRIPTURE
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:4-6, NIV

THE PROCESS OF SALVATION
Salvation is both a wonderous event and a process!

1/ Christians have been saved.
…you have been saved. Ephesians 2:8, ESV
At that moment, you have immediately been saved!

2/ Christians are being saved.
…we who are being saved… 1 Corinthians 1:18, NLT
God will take our sin & replace it with glorious treasure!
God’s work in us removes the ugly & increases the beauty!
At this moment, you are gradually being saved!

3/ Christians will be saved.
…we will certainly be saved… Romans 5:10, NLT
At that moment, you are ultimately saved!
