Talk It Over

1. Pastor Sean said one of the most power weapons our enemy will use is negative voices in your life. How true has this been in your life? Describe the voices that come to mind when you start to write out your goals. What has been you biggest barrier to writing goals?

2. Pastor Sean said, “The very thing that Goliath trusted in to protect him, his armor, God used to weight him down so he couldn’t even dodge a stone!” What things, maybe even good things, are weighing you down? Have any of them become a false sense of security? If so, why do you think that?

3. 1 Samuel 17:28 says, "When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.” In other words, Eliab said, "Go home!” Ironically, he would be the one watching the battle. Describe a time in your life when your accusers were silenced? How did God show up and get the glory?

4. 1 Samuel 17:38-39 says, "Then Saul dressed David in his own tunic. He put a coat of armor on him and a bronze helmet on his head. 39David fastened on his sword over the tunic and tried walking around, because he was not used to them.” Describe a time when someone tried to fit you in their mold and limit you with the weight of their own reality? How did respond? How would the outcome have changed if you did it differently? When it comes to pursing God's dream for your life would you say you are following God's voice or trying to fit the mold of others?

5. Jesus was crucified at Golgotha - “The Place of the Skull.” The burial place of Goliath's head. God’s power is strong than any giant - even our sin. How does it feel knowing this is the power of God? What are one or two steps you can take to shift even deeper into following God’s voice and living in His power?
