It's a new year and we are kicking off a new series called "What's Your Problem?". We all have problems. As we start a new year and this new series, think about the problem or problems that are facing you right now.
As Pastor Jonathan said, "if you're alive, you've got problems". It's just a part of being human. Read the following scriptures and take time to reflect on the way the Bible illustrates problems.
We often make the false assumption that following Jesus means that our problems will be fewer and less severe. Look at Paul. He asked God 3 times to take away his problem. Read 2 Corinthians 12:8. What was God's response to Paul's request?
As Pastor Jonathan said, "We want God to keep us from our problems. God most often delivers us through our problems". Most often, the way out of it is actually through it. Take some time and think about how this has played out in your own life. How has God delivered you through some of the problems you have faced in your life?
The truth is that the greatest thing that has ever happened in the world came through the greatest tragedy: Jesus’ death on the cross. But as Pastor Jonathan reminded us, we can still have hope. He gave us 2 reasons for this. How do feel about these 2 perspectives?
1) You are not alone: read the Bible, we're in good company!
2) Through means temporary: look at all you've already made it through!

God intends on doing great things in your life and THROUGH it. Take time to talk to Our Father in prayer.
