What is the most important element in a relationship . . . trust or love?

Trust is a significant element in the conception announcement
· God needs to trust Mary
· Mary needs to trust the angel
· Mary needs to trust Joseph when she tells him the story
· Joseph needs to believe Mary’s story
· Joseph needs to believe the angel’s message to him

The conception narrative is a continual struggle that clearly circles around the decision to trust.

TRUST 101

· Trust is given.
· Trust is earned.
· Trust comes in different shapes and sizes.
· Trust has strings attached.
· Trust can be broken.
· Trust matters.

It’s hard to trust when you’ve been hurt by trusting.

Betrayal is a hard thing to take. Betrayal is the sledge hammer that shatters trust into a million pieces.

Just because trust is broken it does not mean that love is broken.

Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
