Advent: What is Advent?

Advent: What is Advent?

The holidays are a time for family and traditions, and what better tradition than observing the season of Advent? Advent is simply “a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the coming of Christ.” Advent will help you see, reflect on, and prepare for Christmas in a whole new way.

Advent is a Latin phrase (adventus) that simply means "arrival" or "come to."

1. Someone incredibly important is coming.
2. You are going to do everything you can to prepare.

Who are you preparing for on December 25th?

B.C.: "Before Christ"
A.D.: Anno Domini, "in the year of our Lord"

The birth of Jesus is too big to remember on just one day.
How you end this year will dictate how you start the next.

Advent is a daily focus in December for the day that changed history (as well as your eternity).

To see Jesus this Christmas, look to the mundane.
A Christ-centered Christmas will give you your best Christmas yet.

Challenge: This Christmas, I commit to practicing Advent.
