4 PERSPECTIVES OF POSSESSIONS
1. ROBBER:
WHAT IS YOURS IS MINE AND I'M GOING TO TAKE IT.
WHAT IS YOURS IS MINE AND I'M GOING TO TAKE IT.
2. PRIEST & LEVITE:
WHAT IS MINE IS MINE AND I'M GOING TO KEEP IT.
WHAT IS MINE IS MINE AND I'M GOING TO KEEP IT.
3. GOOD SAMARITAN
WHAT'S MINE IS YOURS AND I'M GOING TO GIVE IT.
WHAT'S MINE IS YOURS AND I'M GOING TO GIVE IT.
4. JESUS FOLLOWER:
WHAT IS MINE IS NOT MINE AND I'M GOING TO MANAGE IT!
WHAT IS MINE IS NOT MINE AND I'M GOING TO MANAGE IT!
Talk It Over
1. What stood out to you most about the message of the 4 perspectives of possessions from the story of the Good Samaritan? What do you believe God was saying to you?
2. Out of the robber, priest or Levite, good samaritan, and the manager, who do you relate most to when you view your possessions? Why?
3. Pastor Sean gave a story about french fries - that when we give to God we are simply returning what is His not because He wants or needs your fries, but because He wants you. How does it make you feel knowing that God wants you? Describe how giving connects you to God? Share a recent story of how God used your giving to not just transform others, but you.
4. Read Psalm 24:1. Pastor Sean said, “Your perspective of money determines what you do with your money. Giving is simply returning to God what is his? What excites you most about being generous? What makes you a little weary of being generous? If you were to take a next step in generosity what would it be and why?
