Inside Pastor Craig & Amy’s Marriage | Q&A With Rachel Cruze
hey
1. Thinking back to your own dating days, what advice would you give couples as they look toward marriage?
• We wanted to create a friendship that was based on Jesus.
• We weren’t following a checklist. Christ is our life.
2. How do you navigate the noise of today’s technology to break through façades and get to the real heart issues?
• As often as you can, don’t do screen to screen, but do face to face.
• Broaden it from just the two of you to your communities.
3. What would you say to couples about the importance of praying together?
• Consistency matters a lot.
• Doing a very little bit is indescribably more valuable than doing nothing.
• Our vision was “How can we serve Christ together?”
4. How do we set healthy emotional, spiritual, and physical boundaries in a dating relationship?
• Go slow on expressing deep emotions.
• You don’t want your relationship to take the place of God.
• Agree up front on your boundaries.
• Having accountability matters a lot.
5. What is the wisdom and benefit of waiting for sex?
• Honor marriage even before you’re married.
6. What is one word that describes your relationship overall?
• If there’s one word that sets our marriage apart, it’s the word “intentional.”
• You never accidentally have a great marriage.
7. In a world that applauds independence, how do you communicate what you need from each other in marriage?
• Humility and servanthood are key to a good marriage.
• We create an environment where issues can come up in a healthy way, and then we have to humble ourselves to listen.
8. What would you say to those trying to save a struggling marriage?
• Love from a place of grace.
• Invite community and a counselor to help.
• Let God do a work in you and pray that God would do a work in your spouse.
• God is a God of restoration.

How do you typically seek out wisdom, and how might this Scripture change how you “get wisdom” in the future? All relationships need healthy emotional, spiritual, and physical boundaries. Do any of your current relationships need boundaries? If so, how could you put a boundary in place this week? What would it look like to put God first in all of your relationships?
