We are continuing our series called "How to Plan Your Funeral" and this week, we are going to focus on the way we love others.
This week wraps up our "How to Plan Your Funeral" series. In this series, we have explored what will and won't matter; our faith in Jesus, and our love for others. This week we tie it all together as we discuss how to “Live with Urgency".
God wants us to live with focus. When we don't live with a sense of urgency, we tend to lose our focus; priorities often get left behind. In what ways have you seen this reflected in your faith journey?
Hearing how short life is can inspire us. Read Psalms 39:4-5 together. What stands out to you in this passage?
Why would David ask God to remind him that his time is short? Why do we have to be reminded of this fact to create a sense of urgency?
Pastor Eric brought up change. It is Fall and change is all around us. As the leaves are changing and the days are getting shorter, what changes do you need to make in this season to prioritize your faith?
Sometimes we just get so busy going through the motions that we don't allow ourselves to be fully present in the moment. Pastor Eric suggested that we ask ourselves "as it is getting colder, is my heart growing warmer?" Do you find yourself growing and having empathy for others or are you tone-deaf to what is happening around you?
Jesus said "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring on its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." What are some steps you can take to be more present and focused on the here and now?
Routines create resilience and one thing is for certain, change is always happening! How can we remain faithful during God's winds of change? What routines have helped you in the past and what do you need to consider?
