http://www.onelifeknox.com/giveBOTTOM LINE: Dedication is the difference.
1. Dedication is seen in sacrifice.
2. Dedication rises and falls with joy.
3. Joy leads to dedicated generosity.
4. Dedication is a team sport.
START TALKING
When have you seen that dedication is the difference in something you were part of or trying to accomplish? Maybe it was losing weight, advancing in your career, passing the class, winning the championship, etc.

START THINKING
Read Nehemiah 11:1-2. What does this verse show us about leaders? Do you think the phrase "leaders go first" is true? Why or why not? Would you follow a leader to something risky if they weren't going first?
Why was it a sacrifice for these people to live in Jerusalem? What do you think they might miss most from the cities they were living in previously? What would miss most if you went to a city that was just getting started? What would you have to sacrifice?

START SHARING
Read Nehemiah 12:27 and :43. What do you think is the connection between sacrifice and joy? When have you experienced your joy in someone or something leading to sacrifice? What did you love that you gave up for what you love even more?
How does sacrifice help you to experience Jesus even more? What have you had to sacrifice, or what do you need to sacrifice, to be able to more fully and completely follow Him?
In the two verses you just read, what did their joy come from? How do you find joy in Jesus even when life isn't necessarily happy? What verses do you remember? What keeps you grounded to this truth?

START DOING
Read Nehemiah 12:44-45. The people of Jerusalem saw their dedication and joy lead them to a sacrificial generosity. And it was seen in everyone!
What do you need to be more generous with to see your dedication grow? How can you dedicate your time to Jesus? How can you dedicate your finances to Him? How can you dedicate your service and talents to Him?
How can we each be more dedicated and even sacrificial in sharing our story with people where we live, work, and play? What can you do this week to be more intentional to live on mission?
What do you sense the Spirit is specifically leading you to do? What will you do this week to do it?

Pray for each person in the micro church to dedicate their lives completely and full to Jesus. Pray that this dedication will lead to a joy that they have never experienced and a sacrificial generosity that leads each of us to look and be more like Jesus!
