GOD IS WORKING WHILE YOU WAIT!
Your Problems are your greatest opportunities for maturity.

If we respond negatively to trails we become a VICTUM instead of a VICTOR in CHRIST.

Your problems are opportunities to ask God for wisdom.
THE PURSUIT OF WEALTH often comes at the EXPENSE OF GOD.
GOT TO TRUST GOD LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW YOU AREN’T GOING TO DROWN!
God’s doesn’t cause us or tempt us to sin, he GIVES US FREEDOM FROM SIN.
The FATHER doesn't want you to live in darkness so he GENEROUSLY GAVE!

Theme of James:

God is working while you wait. Your problems are opportunities to maturity - to live out your faith to lost and dying world!
HIGHEST LEVEL OF FOLLOWING GOD, PURE RELIGION, is EXPRESSING GOD’S LOVE THROUGH OUR ACTIONS!
Talk It Over

1. What stuck out to you the most about the message? What was God saying to you?

2. James humbly called himself a “slave of Lord Jesus.” If you were to introduce yourself and your relationship with Jesus to someone else, what one word would you pick and why? Sean said that, “submitting and humbling your life to Jesus isn’t a drag, a drudge, or even a duty, but the greatest privilege and honor. Often your first step forward is backwards in humility. Describe your attitude towards God? Think of a season where your level of humility affected your relationship with God. Describe that season and how your spiritual growth related to your humility.

3. James 2b-3 says, “Consider it nothing but joy when you fall into all sorts of trials 3because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.” Spend a few minutes memorizing this verse. On a scale of red, yellow, green, how would you rate your level of joy in this season with the problems you are facing? What would it take to move up to green? How we see trials determines if we are victim or victorious in Christ. Make a list of the best practices of having joy during a trail. Identify the one or two you will put into practice to become victorious in Christ.

4. James 1:19-21 says. "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger.20For human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness. 21So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the message implanted within you, which is able to save your souls.” Would you describe yourself more as slow to speak and quick to listen to God or slow to listen and quick to speak to God? How does your approach affect your joy or endurance in problems? One of the best habits of listening to God is to be in His Word to us. How faithful are you to listen to god through his Word?

5. Let’s get into God’s Word! Pastor Sean gave the “Read Me” challenge…Are you willing to take this challenge and read the entire book of James everyday to see how God changes your life? Share this commitment with one other person to help keep you accountable for the next 30 days.
