It's the 2nd week of our "How to Plan Your Funeral" series. This week we are going to be discussing the importance of our Faith in Jesus.

Death makes us think about God and our relationship with Him. We tend to become more interested in God when faced with death. Pastor Jonathan said that "death is the ultimate motivator". Discuss why this might be.

Faith in Jesus affects ALL life. In 2 Corinthians 5:1-10, Paul puts this into a much bigger context for us, and this still matters now. After reading this scripture, discuss its depth with your small group.

Pastor Jonathan reminded us that "faith is foundational for life, not just death". Read 2 Corinthians 5:14-17. What does it mean to "become a new person in Christ"?

Pastor Jonathan said that "Faith in Jesus is not just about a journey TO somewhere but more of a journey WITH someone". It was never meant to be just about a place (Heaven) but instead, it is about being with Jesus. What comes to mind when you hear the word "foundation"? What is your foundation at this moment in time? Is it your relationships, job, or money or is it Jesus?

Church is full of people who know and believe but still "miss it". Pastor Jonathan gave us 3 reasons for why this may be. Discuss the 3 reasons he shared. Do any of these resonate with you? If so, which ones"?
- I’ve got time- Thinking "I'll get around to it"
- Separate spiritual life from real life- Remember, it’s all spiritual
- Distracted with lesser things- They may be important but not as important

Since Faith in Jesus is what will matter at death, why not make it matter for life! How can you make it matter now? Take some time to pray over this as a group.
