Oswald Chambers once said, “Doubt is not always a sign that a man is wrong; it may be a sign that he is thinking.”
His doubt represents a genuine, truth-loving quest. Thomas had doubts, but he also had a desire to believe.
What did Jesus challenge Thomas to do? Translated woodenly this reads, "Stop becoming unbelieving and get on with becoming believing"
What did Thomas do when he dealt with his doubts? He recognized Jesus for who He is.

Jesus has invited him to catch up with the others in their new stage of faith, and he shoots past them and heads to the top of the class.
