The Power Of People | TRANSFORM (Pt. 4) | Philip Pattison

📺 LIVE ONLINE SERVICES each Sunday at 8:30am | 10:00am | 11:30am PT ◾️ Often, when we want to change something in our lives, we prefer to approach it alone. Join us today as we wrap up our TRANSFORMED teaching series and dive into this together. ✅ Check-in to let us support you in your journey. If you’re new here, you’ll also receive a free digital gift card! https://echo.church/checkin → ✋ Decided to follow Jesus? || "In the midst of a mighty struggle to rid our nation of racial and economic injustice, I have heard so many ministers say, 'Those are social issues with which the gospel has no real concern,' and I have watched so many churches commit themselves to a completely otherworldly religion which made a strange distinction between body and soul, the sacred and the secular." ~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
🗝 Kids That Age Out Of Foster Care Systems 🗝
● 1 out of 3 will spend time on the streets
● 1 out of 2 will develop a substance addiction
● Suicidal tendencies are 4x higher than the average youth
● 3 out of 5 rescued from trafficking spent time in foster care
🔸 The Good Samaritan - The MEASURE Of His Love
1. He Puts Himself at Risk.
2. He Puts Himself at Risk To Help An Enemy.
● Jesus will not carve up humanity into those who are and are not worthy of love.
3. He Gave His Own Resources.
“By depicting a Samaritan helping a Jew, Jesus could not have found a more forceful way to say that anyone at all in need - regardless of race, politics, class and religion- is your neighbor.” ~Tim Keller
🔸 It's only when we see Jesus as our Good Samaritan that we can - bit by bit - become like The Good Samaritan.
