Beatitudes show us:
1. Points to only source of TRUE HAPPINESS.

2. God always has MORE.

(Matthew 5:5 NIV) Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

• Our assumption is that BAD THINGS shouldn't happen to GOOD PEOPLE.

(Hebrews 11:35-40 NIV) ... There were others who were tortured, ... They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated-- These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better ...

• Jesus was totally OBEDIENT & SUBMITTED to the Father.

(John 5:19-20 NLT) Jesus explained, ... Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he is doing. In fact, the Father will show him how to do even greater works than healing ...

√ Meekness (humbleness, gentleness) is not a personality trait, it's a CHARACTER trait.

(John 3:30 NLT) He must become greater and greater, and I must become lessand less.

• Meekness is a product of our lives produced by THE HOLY SPIRIT.

(Galatians 5:22-23 NLT) But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

(Matthew 11:28-30 NLT) Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

Do you read the Bible for what it can .... DO FOR you? or PRODUCE IN you?

(James 1:21 ASV) ... putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

√ Meekness produces an ABUNDANCE OF PEACE.

(Psalm 37:7-11 NIV) Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret--it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORDwill inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.

• His meekness gave us LIFE.

(Isaiah 53:7-10 MSG) 'He was beaten, he was tortured, but he didn’t say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it allin silence. ... The plan was that he give himself as an offering for sin so that he’d see life come from it—life, life, and more life.

(Hebrews 9:15 NLT) That is why he (Jesus) is the one who mediates a new covenant between God and people, so that all who are called can receive the eternal inheritance God has promised them. For Christ died to set them free from the penalty of the sins they had committed under that first covenant.
