It is the 2nd week of our "Why We Do What We Do" series and today we are talking about Groups. Pastor Jonathan reminded us that the "why" for Groups is because Following Jesus is Better Together. Much like learning to speak a language, group life is an immersive experience.
Read Acts 2:41-47. The Church’s mission happens when people come together. Discuss a time in your life when people journeyed alongside you. How did that experience help you? Would it have been more difficult doing it all on your own?
Acts of the Apostles 2:41-47 NLT

Groups help us Receive and Share Jesus' love and experience more of who Jesus is. Let's brainstorm: what are some ways that your small group could share the love of Jesus with each other and within the community?
Groups display the Power and Beauty of the Unity of Christ. How is this unity illustrated in the following examples?
- Disciples: from fishermen to tax collectors
- The 1st Church: Jews, Romans, Greeks; both poor & rich
- Groups: extroverts & introverts; political differences
Let's dig into the conversation of unity a little more. Pastor Jonathan used the phrase "unity not uniformity". Another way of saying this is, "our differences make us stronger". How has this proved true in your life? Feel free to use examples from any area of your life where this applies, not just a church setting.
Who do you know that would benefit from being in a small group? Write down their name and reach out to them this week. Let them know what life in a small group has meant to you.
Take some time and pray together. Ask God to help the people in our church that are looking to take get connected into a group.
